هدف پژوهش حاضر، ارائه مدل مشارکت اجتماعی سلبریتی های ورزشی بود. روش پژوهش حاضر آمیخته اکتشافی (ترکیبی از روش کیفی و کمی) بود. در مرحله کیفی، از طریق مصاحبه با خبرگان آگاه از موضوع، گونه های مشارکت اجتماعی سلبریتی های ورزشی با استفاده از روش تحلیل مضمون و تکنیک دلفی در قالب 55 عامل و 7 مؤلفه شناسایی و دسته بندی شدند. در مرحله کمی عوامل شناسایی شده در قالب پرسشنامه پنج ارزشی لیکرت تنظیم شدند و در اختیار نمونه آماری (سلبریتیهای ورزشی) به تعداد 278 نفر قرار گرفتند. نتایج حاصل از آزمون تحلیل عاملی تاییدی نشان داد که مدل مشارکت اجتماعی سلبریتیهای ورزشی شامل مشارکت مذهبی، مشارکت خیریه ای و عامالمنفعه، مشارکت سیاسی، مشارکت محله ای، مشارکت ورزشی، مشارکت رسانه ای و مشارکت مجازی از برازش مناسبی برخوردار بودند. با توجه به اینکه امروزه در سایر کشورها رویکرد توسعه از طریق ورزش مورد توجه قرار گرفته است، نتایج این پژوهش می تواند در استفاده از قدرت نرم سلبریتی های ورزشی با توجه به نفوذ آن ها در حوزه های مختلف اجتماعی، فرهنگی، سیاسی و اقتصادی مؤثر باشد. همچنین مدیران ورزش کشور میتوانند از نتایج این پژوهش برای سیاستگذاری و تدوین برنامهی راهبردی آینده خود به منظور توسعهی مشارکت اجتماعی در ورزش استفاده نمایند.
