Abstract
The emergence of digital technologies has transformed traditional leisure practices and provided new opportunities for entertainment and social interaction, especially among professional athletes. The present study was applied in terms of purpose and descriptive-survey in terms of implementation method. Initially, through an in-depth study and semi-structured interviews with 17 experts in the field of sports management, including professors, faculty members, and researchers, 5 components affecting the digital leisure of professional athletes were identified. The sampling method was purposeful and the sample size was determined based on the theoretical saturation principle. The fuzzy hierarchy process was used to prioritize the criteria. Based on the research findings, 5 indicators and 42 sub-indicators were identified as effective components of the digital leisure of professional athletes. The "technology" index had the highest importance, and the "cultural-social" and "economic" indices were in the next priorities. Also, the pairwise-fuzzy comparison of the sub-indices indicated that the sub-indices of "availability of digital leisure (0.594) and increasing the number of e-sports players (0.594)","strengthening communication and increasing fan loyalty (0.585)" and "expanding and disseminating sports culture (0.581)" had the highest priority. It is suggested that professional athletes help improve the digital space by promoting ethical principles such as honesty, respect for others and responsibility, and by publishing responsible posts, images or comments, have a positive impact on their fans and professional reputation.
