Abstract
Sports can be considered as source for production and development of social capital. Social capital in sports is derived from sports identity and common sports values, norms affect social cohesion in group or society. The purpose of research was to identify, analyze investigate main forces affecting future of social capital in sports in Iran. The present study was descriptive-analytical in terms of practical goal-setting strategy and structural analysis method was used based on future research. The statistical population of research was experts and professors in field of sociology, communications media, sports management and future studies, who had experimental and scientific records, 17 people were selected purposefully. To identify issues affecting driving force in future social capital in sport in Iran, an interview was conducted with experts and based on that, 24 components of important forces were identified. Based on findings of structural and expert analysis, these drivers with the highest degree of importance and level of unpredictability were identified as the main forces affecting future of social capital in sports in horizon of 2061:
Positive and negative individualism, social structures and governance system, Political stability and security, Delineation of common social values and beliefs, Economic well-being: income level and economic base and job security, Digitization and expansion of technology and changing the shape of communication and communication innovations. Therefore, it is necessary to use them in the planning, policies, and any action in field of sports and sports management in future and determining possible future scenarios
