Abstract
Nowadays, social responsibility has become one of the key factors in global competition across various industries. Therefore, the aim of this study is to conduct a scientometric analysis of scholarly documents in the field of social responsibility in sports. This research is a type of scientometric study, in which social network analysis was used to examine bibliographic coupling, co-occurrence, and co-citation of items, as well as citations to the top articles and journals. For the collection of bibliographic data, documents related to social responsibility in sports were retrieved from the Web of Science from 2007 to the end of 2024. Data analysis was conducted using the VOSviewer software. From a total of 213 documents obtained, 114 were analyzed, showing that the average annual growth of documents peaked in 2019. The most active journal in this field was the European Sport Management Quarterly. The article by Sheth and Babiak (2010) had the highest number of citations. The terms "attitude," "governance," "management," and "implementation of social responsibility" have been frequently seen alongside the term "social responsibility" in recent years. Citation rates for articles on social responsibility have reached their highest levels in the past two years, indicating that social responsibility in sports has become a significant and growing area of research. The appearance of terms such as "life skills," "students," and "positive youth development" alongside "social responsibility" since 2019 shows that knowledge in this field is of crucial importance across all levels of sport and will remain relevant in the future
