Abstract

There is a need to rebuild the student sports management system due to its pivotal role in both the education system and the country's sports system, and one of the main prerequisites in this field is to pay attention to social capital. Accordingly, the purpose of the current research was to design7 a model of the consequences of social capital in student sports. The statistical population included university experts and sports managers in the field of student sports. The snowball sampling method was used, data collection continued until theoretical data saturation and 21 semi-structured individual interviews were conducted. In order to analyze the data, Glazer's approach using the software MAXQDA10 was used. In the open coding stage, 143 independent primary open codes (concepts), 65 secondary open codes (subcategories) and finally, 10 main categories were created based on the secondary open codes. In selective coding, 10 main categories including structural, managerial, individual, organizational, interactive, facility, educational, cultural, networking and strategic consequences were identified. Finally, to compile the final model of the consequences of social capital, the 10 main categories identified were categorized into 5 managerial, cultural, structural, educational and behavioral dimensions. Finally, considering the consequences of social capital in student sports, there is a need to strengthen social capital in order to play an active role in facing the upcoming challenges in student sports and effective and efficient management in this field exists.
