Abstract

The purpose of this research was to develop a model for the development of zurkhaneh and wrestling sports. This research was conducted with a qualitative research method and was exploratory-fundamental in nature. The statistical population of this research included all specialists and experts, knowledgeable elites and experts in zurkhaneh and wrestling sports, and university faculty members (with scientific and managerial experience in the field of zurkhaneh and wrestling sports). A purposive and criterion-based sampling method was used to select participants. Research data was collected through in-depth interviews. Grounded theory method was used to analyze the data. Based on the findings, a total of 338 codes were extracted from 18 semi-structured interviews. After extracting similar codes, reviewing and combining them, and eliminating duplicate concepts, 60 main concepts (including 42 concepts in the area of ​​effective strategies and strategies and 18 concepts as consequences of applying action strategies) were identified, which were categorized into 13 main categories (8 concepts of strategies for developing zurkhaneh and wrestling sports and 5 concepts of consequences for developing zurkhaneh and wrestling sports). The results, in the form of a qualitative model, were a simple representation of the factors affecting the development of zurkhaneh and wrestling sports.
