Abstract
The purpose of this research was to investigate the challenges of women in the field of sports management in the country. In terms of the practical purpose, the current research has been conducted in a mixed method in terms of the method of collecting information. The statistical population of the research is all female managers of the Ministry of Sports and provincial offices, the National Olympic Committee, sports federations and women transnational champions, which included 214 people at the time of the research. Sampling was done in the quantitative part in a clustered and targeted manner consisting of 150 people. Sampling in the qualitative section was continued in a targeted manner until the interviews reached the theoretical saturation stage. The research tool in the qualitative part includes in-depth interviews to build the proposed research model using the Delphi technique, and in the quantitative part, the questionnaire obtained from the qualitative part is used. Data analysis in the qualitative part has been done using the Max Kiuda method and the interpretative structural qualitative model, and descriptive and inferential statistics in the quantitative part. Based on the findings, 9 challenges were identified and prioritized in organizational, succession, economic, family, cultural, personal, political, attitudinal and social dimensions. Therefore, paying attention to the organizational barriers and culture building through sports organizations will help women to participate in the management affairs of sports organizations as well as men
