Structural model of strategic intelligence based on social capital and organizational structure in the Ministry of Sports and Youth

Abstract

The aim of the present study was the structural model of strategic intelligence based on social capital and organizational structure in the Ministry of Sports and Youth. In terms of purpose, this research was applied and based on the data collection method, it was a descriptive correlation. The statistical population of this study consisted of 800 staff members of the Ministry of Sports and Youth. The sample size in this study was estimated to be 260 based on Morgan's table and sample size. An unlikely sampling method was available. Structural validity, content validity, and Cronbach's alpha were used to validate the measurement tool. Finally, structural equation modeling approach was used to analyze the data. The results showed that the variables of organizational structure and social capital explain 41.3% and 28.2% of the variance of the strategy of external organizational strategic intelligence and strategic internal intelligence, respectively. In addition, it was found that the effect of social capital on strategic extra-organizational intelligence, the effect of organizational structure on strategic extra-organizational and intra-organizational intelligence and the effect of structure on social capital are statistically significant (P<0/01). Finally, it was found that the mediating role of social capital in the relationship between organizational structure and strategic extra-organizational intelligence is statistically positive and significant (P<0/01). Based on the results of the research, it can be stated that social capital and organizational structure encourage the collection, organization, analysis and distribution of information within the organization, and according to them, information exchanges are promoted.
