Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of core stability training on lumbar lordosis angle in girl students. Eighty six university girl students volunteered to participate in the study. Thirty four healthy subjects with ranged between 19-24 years old that had equal to or more than 55º were selected and were divided randomly into the three following groups: two experimental(n=12) and one control(n=10) groups. The experimental groups trained 3 times a week for 12 weeks. Before and after 12 weeks, the lumbar lordosis angle was measured using flexible ruler.  Data were analyzed with dependent t -test, one-way ANOVA and Tukey post hoc tests. Level of significant was α ≤0.05. Results showed that the lumbar lordosis angle decreased significantly in core stability group compared with flexibility and control groups (p=0.001). We concluded that core stability trainings are the effective exercise protocol to improve lumbar lordosis angle.
