Designing an Iranian wrestling success model based on Bosscher championship sport development model

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to design an Iranian wrestling success model based on the Butcher championship sport development model. The present study was a qualitative and data theory type based on the constructivist method. The statistical population of this study consisted of sports managers, wrestling specialists and experts. Snowball method was used for sampling and sampling continued until the theoretical saturation limit, based on 19 interviews were conducted. Semi-structured interviews were used to collect information and coding process was used to analyze the data. Quantitative data analysis was performed using a researcher-made questionnaire. The final model was obtained after all the steps. Findings showed that the key factors of Iranian wrestling success based on the model of development of Butcher championship sport were identified in the form of 9 main categories. Key factors in the success of Iranian wrestling based on the Boucher championship sports development model, 15-component financial support factor, 15-component governance and structure factor, 15-component support factor for athletes, 15-component public sports factor, 9-component training facilities and equipment, Talent identification factor with 15 components, coaching promotion factor with 15 components, national and international competition factor with 11 components, research and innovation factor with 7 components constitute the success model of Iranian wrestling. According to the paradigm model of success of Iranian wrestling, the situation of this sport is not favorable based on the components.
