Identification and analysis of factors affecting the localization of women's volleyball club management in Iran

Abstract

Purpose of this study is to identify and analyze the factors affecting the localization of professional women’s volleyball clubs in Iran. The present research is interpretive research from the perspective of paradigm, an applied research based on purpose and strategically it’s phenomenological study. The statistical population of the study consisted of sports management experts, club CEOs and veteran volleyball players. The data collection method was in-depth and semi- tructured interviews. After performing the open and axial coding process by using Strauss and Corbin’s method, the categories were analyzed and identified. Findings showed that 150 initial codes with the frequency of 192, were discovered and counted in the field of factors that affecting the localization of Iranian women's professional volleyball clubs. After the process of combining meaningful units, 9 main categories and 24 concepts including infrastructure, legal factors, media, sponsors, club’s organizational structure, managerial factors, sports factors, cultural and social factors and economic factors were extracted and explored. It is suggested that the managers and practitioners of women's volleyball in the country, by using this model and its factors and components, can adapt scientific, principled programs for each of the factors and with the cooperation of other related departments such as the Ministry of Sports and Youth, Volleyball Federation, municipalities, provincial volleyball delegations, the private sector, etc, try to achieve its real status as a women's volleyball club in Iran as soon as possible.
