The Modeling of the Factors Affecting the Implementation of Knowledge Management in Sport Federations

Abstract

The purpose of the study was modeling the factors which have influence on the implementation of knowledge management in the sport federations of Iran. The Method of the research was mixed and sequential exploratory kind. The statistical population was consisted of all employees in the sport federations (N= 51). The stratified random sampling method was used for selecting the sample. For doing that, firstly, all the federations were divided into two categories: individual and group federations. Secondly, five groups and 16 individual federations were randomly selected. The Number of employees in selected federations was approximately 490 people. Then, according to the Morgan table and based on the optimal allocation 280 questionnaires were distributed between the federations and 225 valid questionnaires were returned and the same number has been chosen as the sample which was taken. Research tool was a questionnaire with six parts: strategy and leadership, organizational structure, knowledge-based organizational culture, ICT, human resources management and knowledge management (Lawson, 2003). Before usage, reliability and validity of the questionnaire was reviewed and approved. Confirmatory factor analysis was used for construct validity and the structural equations Model was used for offering the research model in Lisrel software. The results of the model showed that the model was fit with data and Impact coefficients of strategy and leadership (0.89), organizational structure (-0.14), Knowledge-based organizational culture (0.24) and ICT (0.19) were significant on implementation of knowledge management.
